Alberta PNP Draw: Required CRS Score Drops 40 plus and ITAs Issued For PR Doubled Up
Alberta is among the 10 provinces of Canada, lies western-most and contains the largest deposits of oil and natural gas. Well known for tourism and breath-taking freshwater lakes that are around 600.
Alberta organises immigration draws through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), invites skilled foreign people to work and stay in the province. Through these draws, the government selects the candidates as per the requirement.
CRS 360-100 Invitations
In the latest AINP draw that was held on January 28, 2021, Alberta issued 100 Invitation to Apply (ITAs) to express entry candidates after scrutinizing the listed profiles in the express entry, and the CRS score cut-off marked was 360 and the abroad skilled workers who had scored 360 and more points in CRS system were selected. The selected candidates are invited to apply for the PNP program, which adds massive 600 points that facilitates getting Canada PR.
CRS Drops-Invitations Doubles
Compared to the previous draw that was conducted on 8th Jan 2021, the CRS score cut-off dropped sharply by 40 plus points to 360, while the previous CRS score requirement was 406. And also, the ITAs issued were double the ITAs issued in the earlier draw(50 ITAs).
ITAs Based on CRS
CRS means Comprehensive Ranking System
The CRS score is allotted to the applicants depending on the factors such as candidate’s age, educational qualification, work experience, language proficiency (English or French) etc.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC) holds Express Entry draws for every 2 weeks inviting eligible abroad applicants for Canadian permanent residence. Applicants who have scored the CRS cut-off mark or exceeded the mark, set by the IRCC for the respective draw, will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Applicants in the Express Entry system will receive an invitation to apply for PNP from Alberta, only after the officials who verify the profile are satisfied with the applicant’s (his/her) skills and work experience.
The AINP provides a list of occupations that are not considered. So, the candidates whose occupations are not related to the official occupations list will be considered.
Alberta’s 2021 Draw after 6 Months Gap
Alberta had not held any immigration draws after last year (2020) June, until Jan 2021. The gap is nearly 6months. The reason is the limit of nominations for a year, self-imposed by the Alberta province
There was a cap for issuing nominations; only 6,250 nominations were allotted for the year 2020. Due to the pandemic, Alberta reduced the actual cap to 4,000 invitations, which were issued by June 2020. Therefore, the province has not conducted any provincial nominations until the first month of 2021.
The cap set for nominations Alberta for the year 2021 is yet to be revealed.
