IRCC Held Express Entry Second Draw- CRS Cut Off Score Drops. How Many Candidates Received Canada PR Invitations?
The world’s second-largest country Canada is well known for its welcoming nature welcoming skilled workers abroad to work and reside in their nation through various programs. Canada also set a huge target of welcoming 4lakh plus immigrants every year from 2021-2023, officially announced this 2021 immigration level plan in the last year 2020.
Immigrants are the biggest source of Canada’s economy in various ways and also fills the shortage of skilled workforce in the country. Therefore, the Canadian government accepts immigrants in large numbers and the numbers are increasing year after year.
Canada organizes multiple express entries draws of candidates each year under different work programs, and the selected candidates will be awarded ITAs for Permanent Residence. The latest draw is for Canadian experience candidates.
Eligibility for this program is the candidate must possess at least 1 year of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in and across Canada.
Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) organized the second draw of the express entry (Canadian Experience Class candidates) this week on January 21, 2021, and the Comprehensive Ranking (CRS) Score cut-off requirement was 454. The cutoff score was dropped 7 points compared to the previous draw that was held on January 7, 2021, the CRS cut-off score of the year's first draw (CEC-specific) was 461.
More than four thousand candidates received Invitations to Apply(ITA) to apply for Canada's most popular Permanent Residence permit.
IRCC issued 4,626 permanent residence(PR) invitations to candidates belonging to the Canadian Experience Class as per the CRS score.
The Express Entry system is Canada's most popular immigration system where the applications of immigrants are managed and the eligible candidates are allotted the ITAs for permanent residence. Express Entry is not a skilled workers program or any other program, but a system where the aspiring candidate’s profiles will be managed by IRCC.
IRCC uses Express Entry to manage skilled worker applications for programs-Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class
The profiles of the applicants are ranked as per the points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and the highest-ranked will be considered for an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
The PR applications should get processed within 6 months as per the government's initiative
